"General William Tecumseh Sherman led a controversial and contradictory life.
He undoubtedley fought with superior skill and strategy toward the preservation of the union, but, like his Confederate adversaries, he was proslavery.
Many historians consider him a military genius whose superior strategy,
tactics, and logistics spared the lives of many of his troops;
but he simultaneously granted them free rein to wreak havoc upon innocent civilians."
If you are a Civil War history buff, you will love this book!
I found this book very easy to read, it was very informative as
I knew almost nothing about William Sherman before I read this.
He led a very interesting life even before the Civil War broke out. One example being he was in California before and during the gold rush of 1849!
This book also has a some archival photes in it.
